Every time, heading to the mountain concert , I get excited to see the vew on the wa but. I noticed lots of dead trees. It's been 6 years to go up to Winter Park, the drought in these years effected..?

Right after got off the freeway, Lily on XMradio played Gerald Albright and said " he's playing at Winter Park this evening. Some of you may be heading out to there..."

Wow!! that's us!! That put me in mood.

My plan was leaving home at 7am since seats are not assigned plus the venue was moved from valley to downtown. We didn't leave till 7:40, We passed valley and we thought missed enterence so went back to Valley and asked hotel. It was way up..We get there and people were already lined up..shoot. but not too bad. got 2nd row.

<-I was so glad to see Becky. Since CD104.3 went off the air I miss her voice. I hear CM of this Winter Park jazz fest and Democrat convention time jazz fest that she's putting together. She said this is her 18th Winter Park jazz fest. Her MC with knowledge is national level.

Wendy is a lady I met(?) at Jeff Golub's guest book. We exchange e-mails around Jeff's concert. Her sister is from Texas. Wendy goes cruis, Catalian Island and lots of other smooth jazz shows. I said Victor of KUVO played Jeff Golub then, she said she used to date wtih Victor. Victor was supposed to MC this but he went to family reunion. Also, Becky was his boss in old KIHI..small world.

Susan is mid morning host of KUVO, old fashion jazz radio station. since CD104.3 went off, Winter Park jazz fest sponcered KUVO to advatise. Susan sounded unhappy missing other concert in town on same week end.

I got Anita Baker tickets from her show. I started reading Wayne Shorter book which Susan had its author for studio guestS.

Winter Park 2000, Johnathan Batler was a member of Guitars & Saxes but his guitar didn't work so, he sang through the show. Johnathan introdued young lady, his oldest daughter. Not just introducing her, she was actually working (she was wearing access pass on) as a singer and she sounded good. He sang "do you love me?" she goes "yes, daddy." She's one of those sing like talk kind of singer.

<-Johnathan tryed to bring audience paticipation. Don was supposed to sing "do you live me?" part.

Johnathan played gospel song but as soon as the song started people got up and dancing. The rythm! Is it OK to dance on gospel song?

<- JJ is Saturday morning hos of KUVO. He plays varitey of jazz. He played Jeff Golub. His first MC.

Avarage White Band next. Jeff Golub plays lots of their songs but since original band is playing, maybe not their song today.. ->

Dancing time..Ladies at front row became temprary friends.

AWB members are all muti instrmentlists. Each one switch around keyboard, vase guitar etc. plus all can sing. As a result, the sounds was thick.

<-Don got philly steak and this pic is after he ate a half. We get stamp on the arm and we can go to outside so, foods inside were reasonable price. I saw a lady with big plate. a little later I saw again with more food but it was another lady, just similar body type.

->Jassie J got turqoise top. She can pla! Not just look.. All those complecated Jeff Lorber's songs and everything. Later, she pointed out my ear rings and necklace."ah! turqoise!!" When she asked my name, she started speaking Japanese.

Finally, Guitars & Saxes, I've been waiting for. I fell sleep earlier, excuse me but not Jeff's satage though. After CD104.3 went off the air earlier this year, Becky said she tried to bring Jeff to Winter Park and when I saw it came up in his tour schedule, I got excited, "she did it!!"

Jeff's opening song was "Ain't No Woman Like The One I Got". Hearing hit song in live is such a treat.

Gerald Albright lives in Colorado now but National level guy. His laid back style of play brings audience into his music. Gerald and Jeff's blues was soulfull as usual.

Jeff Lober introduced himself multi ...because he's keyboadist but he produces other's albums plus he said he works for landscape was funny. His play could've soften up for the live though.

The musicians just do the sound check while stage was set and the show was play just like that. They must go around tour and used to doing that but to me, it looks like magic.

Jeff played 'Cut the Cake" for encore anyway even AWB played it in their show earlier. Jeff didn't hide he's AWB fan so he tributed to them. I did n't mind Jeff's version plus audience liked it, too.

After the show, a guy said to me "You are Jeff Golub fan, ha?" "Yeah!!" I guess I looked abviously so.

Becky and Susan both "tomorrow?" I said "no. just today. just Jeff."

I work on Sundays so, Jeff's show was on Saturday, my day off. I didn't have to take extra day off.
